Tricks and tips to get the perfect Hilton Head vacation property experience:
When to book a Hilton Head rental home & When to go:
- In the Hilton Head area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Summer months are high season in the Hilton Head area. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Beachside home on lagoon with private pool, hot tub, dock & W\/D - walk to beach has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
