Booking the best rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your Hilton Head rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by choosing trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Oceanfront Villa with Ocean Views, Shared Pool\/Hot Tub, and Nearby Beach Access has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If not, reach out to the host before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. text the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
