Rental booking tips:

Get the best rental home value:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in Hilton Head. To find the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beach escape at Springwood Villa Condos with pool & tennis - walk to beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a particular Hilton Head destination you long to visit, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

Tips to have a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
