Finding the best Hilton Head vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Hilton Head. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Finding the perfect vacation rental:

  • To start, have your group agree to date ranges and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Very Large and Completely Updated Villa on the 11 Mile Lagoon System! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. Otherwise, email the host before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Have a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. message the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
