Strategies to get the perfect rental home experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- In the Hilton Head area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:

- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Relaxing villa with pool, hot tub & tennis - partial ocean view has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a particular Hilton Head destination you are crazy about, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
Know before you go:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
