Cost saving strategies:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Book your vacation in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies supply Hilton Head area travel guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, selecting, and booking the right Hilton Head rental:

  • Choose dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Private pool, spacious open floor, and more! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
