Tips to get the perfect Hilton Head vacation property experience:

Get the best rental home value:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in Hilton Head. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Hilton Head restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to pick the perfect rental in the Hilton Head area:

  • Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. 5 Bedroom Home w\/ Private Pool & 6Seater Golf Cart has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
  • Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. message the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
