How to book the best Hilton Head vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Hilton Head area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides have deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Select vacation dates and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Lilly Pulitzer Themed Beach Getaway w\/Laundry + Heated Pool +Beach Chairs+Cart has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.

- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. text the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
