Booking the best Hilton Head rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are high season in the Hilton Head area. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Close to the Beach! 3 Bed 3 Bath Townhouse with free tennis\/pickleball! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, call the host before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
