Sticking to a budget:

Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are high season in Hilton Head. Booking your Hilton Head vacation rental in Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. - Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
