Strategies to get the best Hilton Head rental home experience:
When to book a Hilton Head rental & When to go:
- The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Hilton Head area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick a perfect Hilton Head rental home:
- Choose dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Wonderful golf and lagoon views has 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is best for your trip.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- If there's a certain Hilton Head attraction you long to visit, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
