Finding the best Hilton Head vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Summer time is high season in the Hilton Head area. To get the most suitable rental home for your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Hilton Head restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose and book yourrental:
- Choose vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Secluded island escape near the beach & Harbor Town with deck & AC- dog-friendly has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
