Finding the best Hilton Head vacation home experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Hilton Head rental home:

  • Summer is high season in the Hilton Head area. To find the largest vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the perfect vacation home:

  • First, have your family select dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Secluded island escape near the beach & Harbor Town with deck & AC- dog-friendly has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a particular Hilton Head beach you love, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
