Strategies to get the best Hilton Head vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental in the Hilton Head area:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Dog-friendly house with private pool and screened-in deck - Walk to beach has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you book your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation group.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
More tips for your visit:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
