Strategies to get the perfect Hilton Head rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Hilton Head. To get the best rental home within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Hilton Head area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best rental in the Hilton Head area:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 4 bed\/3 bath home in Shipyard with peaceful lagoon view and private pool has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, email the property owner before you book your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is optimal for your trip.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
