Rental home booking tips:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are high season in the Hilton Head area. To book the best rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing and booking the best Hilton Head rental:

  • Begin by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 2nd floor renovated end unit w\/ stunning pool, lagoon, and ocean views! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the host before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your agreement.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
