Booking the best rental home experience:
Finding the best value:
- In the Hilton Head area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summer months are high season in the Hilton Head area. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Private pool - space for the whole family 4 bedrooms! 7 Port Au Prince has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your group.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
