How to find the best Hilton Head vacation property experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- Summer time is high season in the Hilton Head area. To book the best rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- In the Hilton Head area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Hilton Head area travel guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and picking the rightrental home:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Well Updated with Beach Contemporary Decor -- Welcome to the Beach! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your vacation family.
- If there's a particular Hilton Head attraction you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
