Hilton Head rental booking tips and tricks:

When to reserve a Hilton Head rental & When to go:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Hilton Head. To find the best value, shift your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.

Make a plan and pick the perfect Hilton Head rental home:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Homey Townhouse with Shared Hot Tub, Pool, Gym & Tennis - Walk to Beach has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Tips for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Call the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
