Booking the best Hilton Head vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Hilton Head area. To book the best rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking the perfectrental:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Very Nice Home Located on the 11-Mile Lagoon with Its Own Large Private Pool! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's an individual Hilton Head destination you crave, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
