Strategies to get the best Hilton Head rental home experience:
Finding the best value:
- In the Hilton Head area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- To get the most suitable vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Hilton Head attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking yourrental:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Beachwalk 165 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Hilton Head attraction you long to visit, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
