Tricks and tips to get the perfect Hilton Head rental experience:
When to reserve a Hilton Head rental home & When to go:
- Summer time is high season in Hilton Head. To find the best value, change your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic.
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Hilton Head area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and choose your prefectvacation home:
- Choose your vacation week and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Cozy Villa with Private Balcony, Shared Pool & Hot Tub - Walk to the Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges applied to your agreement.
Tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
