Booking the best Hilton Head rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Hilton Head. Booking in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Recently updated, steps to the beach and The Dunes House Restaurant! has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Have a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
