How to find the best Hilton Head rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer is high season in Hilton Head. To find the best value, shift your family's Hilton Head trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Select your dates and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Large Two Bedroom Villa with Easy Access to Several Amenities! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your trip.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or might be applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
