Tips and Tricks to get the best Hilton Head vacation property experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area travel guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best rental home in Hilton Head:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Kitchen updated,Rates include cleaning has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
