Get the most from your spending budget:

• Summertime is the most expensive season in the Hilton Head area. Booking your Hilton Head vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
• The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
• Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
• Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.

Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
