Tricks and tips to get the very best Hilton Head vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Hilton Head area. Booking your Hilton Head vacation rental in Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting the perfect rental in the Hilton Head area:

  • Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Stunning Condo! Close to Beach and Coligny Plaza has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
