Booking the best Hilton Head vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Beautifully Decorated Home with Lagoon and Golf Course Views! has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is optimal for your trip.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Have a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, note any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
