How to find the best Hilton Head rental experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Hilton Head rental home:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Hilton Head attractions and restaurants.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning and picking your prefectrental:

  • Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Beautifully Decorated First Floor Condo with Ocean, Lagoon and Pool Views! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is right for your trip.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
