Hilton Head vacation rental tips and tricks:
Sticking to a budget:
- In the Hilton Head area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in Hilton Head. To get the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area travel guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfectvacation home:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Hilton Head Vacation Rental, Oceanfront Community! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
