Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Hilton Head vacation home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and picking the right Hilton Head rental home:
- Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Harbour Town villa with courtyard view & pool - close to shops & restaurants has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
