Strategies to get the perfect Hilton Head rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Hilton Head area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- To find the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and picking your prefect Hilton Head rental home:
- Choose your dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Condo with Balcony, Shared Pool, Playground, Hot Tub & Gym has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. Otherwise, call the host before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation group.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Additional considerations:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
