Finding the best Hilton Head rental home experience:

When to book a Hilton Head rental & When to go:

  • The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Summer is high season in Hilton Head. Book your Hilton Head rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectrental:

  • To start, have your group agree to the best dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Newly updated kitchen conveniently located in Palmetto Dunes! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
