Our top Rental home tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- To find the best value, consider changing your family's Hilton Head vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Planning and choosing the perfect Hilton Head rental:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Beautiful Golf Course Views From Your Private Deck! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If not, contact the property management company before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual Hilton Head beach you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
