Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your Hilton Head vacation home in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Hilton Head area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the best rental:

  • Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. New to the Rental Market! has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific Hilton Head destination you simply love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking

Advice for a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
