Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Hilton Head area travel guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing the perfectrental home:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to the best dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. You are going to love this completely remodeled villa!!! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
