Tricks and tips for getting the perfect rental experience:
When to visit Hilton Head & When to book:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Hilton Head area. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Hilton Head area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose and book the perfect Hilton Head rental:
- Choose vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Lovely Two Bedroom Condominium with Ocean Views! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
Have a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. text the host immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
