How to find the best Hilton Head vacation property experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- Summer time is high season in the Hilton Head area. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and picking your Hilton Head rental home:
- First, have your family agree to the best dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Fantastic Vacation Condo Close to Beach w\/Free WiFi, AC, W\/D, Shared Pool\/Tennis has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
