Tricks and tips to get the best Hilton Head rental experience:
When to reserve a Hilton Head rental & When to go:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Hilton Head. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose and book the right Hilton Head vacation home:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Lovely and Large Two Bedroom Villa at the Heart of Palmetto Dunes! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve the home. - Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's an individual Hilton Head beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More tips for your stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
