Tips to get the perfect Hilton Head rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Hilton Head rental home:
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summer time is high season in the Hilton Head area. Book your Hilton Head vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Hilton Head area travel guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental in Hilton Head:
- Choose your vacation week and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Cozy dog-friendly home with free WiFi & private pool for a relaxing stay has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Additional considerations:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many problems.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
