Tricks and tips to get the optimal Hilton Head rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Hilton Head area. To find the largest rental within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose and book your Hilton Head vacation home:
- Start by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 2516 Windsor Place II- Renovated for 2024 Rental Season!! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is right for your trip.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
