Our top Rental home tips and tricks:
Find your best deal:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Summer is high season in the Hilton Head area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area travel guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the best rental in the Hilton Head area:
- Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Oceanview condo with pool, hot tub & full kitchen - close to beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. Otherwise, call the host before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the rental manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
