Strategies to get the perfect Hilton Head vacation property experience:
When to visit Hilton Head & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Hilton Head. Booking your Hilton Head vacation home in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- In the Hilton Head area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- First, have your family choose a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Charming condo with shared pool and tennis - walk to the beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your family.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Have a great stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
