Getting the best rental experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Hilton Head area. Booking in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Hilton Head area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to choose the best rental home in Hilton Head:
- Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. 44 Bradley Beach, Close to Beach, Large Pool, Free Golf has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If there's a specific Hilton Head beach you are enamored with, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
Know before you go:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
