Narrow your Search:
- To start, have your family agree to trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Amazing oceanfront condo with pool, hot tub, tennis, fitness area, & W\/D has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your family.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Hilton Head beach you love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
