Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies supply Hilton Head area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
