This cavernous townhouse villa is located just a short walk away from 12-miles of white, splendid, sandy BEACHES. The exclusive Shipyard Plantation is a gated community that provides its own private beach access for owners and guest convenience. The plantation is surrounded by some of the best golf courses in the world, miles of paved cycling paths with palm trees and oak trees covered in Spanish moss, professional tennis courts and pretty sunny beaches.
Professionally decorated with new furnishings and fresh paint, this villa is one you’ll just have to see to believe! Recently added more modern lighting throughout first floor and a new 65-inch TV in living room!!
Our two bedroom, 2.5 bath townhouse offers all the amenities of home. We have a entirely supplied kitchen for cooking. There is a modest breakfast nook AND a nice dining area for plenty of seating. There are two sizable bedrooms with a King bed in EACH room. Both bedrooms have their own private baths, TV, and private balcony. One bedroom has a sitting area, and the other bedroom has a brand-new trundle bed with 2 additional twin-size beds for additional guests. A roomy living room connected to the dining area provides an open concept floor plan for our guests to relax. There is a brand-new queen-size pullout couch bed for added sleeping area. There is also a huge, upsized, back deck that comfortably seats 6. The covered deck also offers a gorgeous view of the pool included for Tennis Master guests only. Outdoor enthusiasts will adore the outdoor vistas from all angles.
Between the BEACHES. golf, WATER SPORTS, shopping, tennis and cycling I think it is safe to say there is really something for everybody's vacation enjoyment, which is why Hilton Head Island is so special and well worth the visit. Once you visit Hilton Head Island, you'll understand why so many people choose to vacation here year after year.
One of the trendy attractions in the Shipyard Plantation is the nationally acclaimed Van Der Meer Tennis Center where guests can take tennis lessons daily from tennis professionals and pros. Check out the Van Der Meer official tennis website for more details. You will be very impressed with the quality of their tennis courts and the wide variety of tennis lessons/clinics available for all ability levels.
While tennis is certainly fashionable here on the island, most people would agree that GOLFING is one of the most popular leisure activities. HHI offers some of the most pristine public and private golf courses in the country that attract many visitors, including celebrities.
Home to 26 championship GOLF courses, designed by golf architects like Robert Trent Jones Sr., Pete Dye, and Jack Nicklaus; it's no surprise that HHI has been voted as one of the Top-10 golf destinations in the world (according to Golf Digest). In fact, the island is a PGA TOUR event destination, as well as the host of the annual RBC Heritage Classic in the spring.
Hilton Head Island has GOLF courses for ALL ability levels, including oceanfront courses, as well as traditional parkland courses. One handsome golf course is so close, it is just across the street from our townhome.
In addition to magnificent golf and tennis don't forget to check out the many different types of outdoor WATER SPORTS available in Hilton Head. There is a wide variety of things to choose from including kayaking with dolphins, jet skiing, sailing, and deep-sea fishing. There really is something for everybody!
Special Beach Note: Sea Turtle Patrol monitors Hilton Head Island beaches for SEA TURTLE nesting and hatching activity annually, May through October, to promote the existence of these endangered species and to spread awareness of their struggle through public education and outreach. With careful planning and patience, you may be blessed to witness a hatchling racing to the ocean water using a special red flashlight. Our kids were amazed when they witnessed this on the Hilton Head Island beach at nighttime.
SHOPPING divas don't despair! There is plenty of shopping to appreciate on the island also. One of the most popular shopping destinations on the island is the Coligny Shopping Plaza located close to the beach with many original stores and stores to choose from. If you are more of a bargain shopper, check out the Tanger Outlet Mall just a short drive to the 'main' land (about 20 mins. away from Shipyard). Amazing deals on brand name items and a great variety of stores to choose from makes this a nice shopping destination. Lastly, checkout Harbor Town by the light home for more unique shopping choices located near the lighthouse and in a boat marina setting.
If FOOD is your passion, there are many marvelous places to choose from! Our favorite dining places include, but are not limited to, One Hot Mamas, Smoke House (superb Bar-B-Que), Salty Dog Cafe (by the water), Skull Creek Boat House (with beautiful outdoor dining along the water) and Aunt Chilada's with authentic Mexican food. If you savor an outdoor beer garden check out the new addition called, The Bank, where you can make beer "withdrawals", eat yummy food and watch enormous outdoor screens for sports, etc. There are various food trucks and even ice cream for the young at heart visitors to enjoy. Last, but not least, don't forget that since we are on an island, there is plenty of fresh seafood options available. We recommend the Carolina Crab Company and The Wreck restaurant over by the Salty Dog shopping area.
HHI is a NATURE LOVERS heaven full of interesting greenery and a multitude of wildlife (turtles, alligators, squirrels, deer, herons, crabs and many others). This may explain why one of the most popular past times on the island is bicycle riding. Guests come from all over the country to enjoy the MILES OF SCENIC BIKE PATHS that wind along lagoons, golf courses, and other popular outdoor locations such as Harbor Town. We highly recommend taking some time to go cycling and discover all of the beauty that Hilton Head has to offer. Who knows, you may even get lucky and see some alligators basking in the sun along the bank of a lagoon. :) Throughout our stay we typically bicycle ride to eateries and visit the beach daily.
SPECIAL Note:
Attentive owners make continuous updates including new king beds, new living room furnishings, and fresh paint in January 2024. As a result, our townhouse villa has been booked full throughout the years since we purchased it in 2014 with many repeat renters.

How to book the best Hilton Head vacation rental experience:
When to visit Hilton Head & When to reserve a Hilton Head rental home:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Hilton Head. To find the largest rental within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Hilton Head attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain deals for local shops and restaurants.
Planning and choosing the right Hilton Head rental home:
- Start by having your group select date ranges and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Townhouse in gated community... close to beaches, golf courses, & tennis courts has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone.

- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
