How to find the best rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in Hilton Head. Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Hilton Head area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting and booking a perfect Hilton Head vacation home:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 7825 Cente Court is a lovely villa with lagoon views in Palmetto Dunes. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a certain Hilton Head beach you are crazy about, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
