Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Hilton Head rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To book the best rental within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the perfect vacation home in Hilton Head:

  • First and foremost, have your group select date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 30 day Cancellation and Free Pickleball, short walk to beach, 29 Moorings! has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If not, email the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
