Booking the best Hilton Head vacation rental experience:
When to reserve a Hilton Head rental home & When to go:
- In the Hilton Head area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summer time is high season in the Hilton Head area. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Hilton Head area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
Choosing the best rental in Hilton Head:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Updated Condo with Lagoon Views, Shared Pool, Hot Tub & WiFI - Near Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
