Our top Hilton Head rental home booking tips:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Hilton Head area. Book your Hilton Head rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking a perfect Hilton Head vacation home:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Amazing & newly updated three bedroom \/ three bath villa steps to the ocean! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your group.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your contract.
- If there's a particular Hilton Head destination you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More tips for your visit:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
